The rules of Arguers
Last updated 2 November 2026.
In short
The AI can be wrong
The claim check, the AI opponent and the judge are AI. What they say isn't checked fact, and it isn't what the people behind Arguers think.
The AI plays to win
The AI opponent argues its side as hard as it can and may lean on disputed claims, but never about real people, elections or health.
Argue with ideas
Politics and hot topics are welcome. Threats, abuse, other people's private details and accusations against private people are not.
Checked before it's shown
An AI screens what people write before anyone else sees it, and a person reads every report.
You can contest
Contest a verdict from its page and the judge looks again. For anything else, tell us and a person looks at it.
Who runs Arguers
Arguers is a service of MABARIS di M.A.B., a sole proprietorship (ditta individuale) in Italy (“we”): VAT number IT04083540791, REA number CZ-233871, registered office Via Rucci 2, 88044 Marcellinara (CZ), Italy. You can reach us at contact@arguers.com, at support@arguers.com for help with the site, or by phone at +39 331 280 4782.
These terms are the agreement between you and us whenever you use Arguers, as a guest, with an account or with Pro. By using it you agree to them; if you don’t, please don’t use it.
What the AI says
AI models check each claim before a debate starts, screen what people write, argue as the AI opponents (the bots) and judge every debate. The privacy page says where your text goes for that.
- It can be wrong. Verdicts, scores and everything else the AI writes are an AI’s assessment, not checked fact. They can be mistaken, incomplete or out of date. Check the sources a verdict shows, and don’t rely on the AI for decisions about your health, money, legal matters or how to vote.
- It isn’t our opinion. Nothing the AI says, the judge included, is the opinion of Arguers or of the people who run it, and a verdict doesn’t take sides on anything beyond the debate it judged.
- The AI opponents play to win. Each bot argues the side it was given as hard as it can and, when the facts are against it, may lean on disputed or doubtful claims. None of them does that about real people or organisations, elections and voting, or health and medicine, and they never invent sources on purpose. They can still be wrong.
- AI is always marked. Wherever an AI takes part in a debate, its name carries an AI badge.
The rules
Disagreement is the point. Politics, religion, science and other hot topics are welcome, and so are strong opinions and criticism of public figures and institutions. Argue against the idea, not the person. Don’t use Arguers to:
- threaten anyone, or encourage violence or self-harm;
- abuse or harass people, or attack them for who they are, such as their ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality or disability;
- post sexual content involving minors;
- share anyone’s private details, such as a home address, a phone number or identity documents;
- make accusations or spread rumours about private individuals;
- post anything illegal, or anything that breaks someone else’s rights, such as their copyright or privacy;
- pretend to be someone else;
- spam, use scripts or several identities to get around limits, or try to manipulate results;
- attack, probe or overload the site.
Breaking these rules can get your text blocked, your content removed, or your access to Arguers ended.
How posts are checked
- Claims are checked by an AI before a debate starts. It turns away claims that target private individuals, threaten anyone or are illegal, and suggests clearer wordings when people would read a claim differently. It never blocks a claim for being political or controversial.
- Arguments, notes, names and proposed wordings are screened by an AI before anyone else sees them, for threats, targeted abuse, sexual content involving minors, private details and instructions for serious harm. Blocked text isn’t posted, and you’re told why. If the check can’t run, posting may pause for a while.
- Claims posted for anyone can be reported by anyone. The person reporting stops seeing it straight away, and it comes off the list once 3 different people signed in with an account have reported it.
- A person reads reports. Everything sent from the feedback page reaches us. We may remove content, take down a shared result or a listed claim, or end someone’s access, for breaking these terms or the law. When we act on your content, we tell you why where we can.
Contesting a decision
- A verdict. Each person in a debate can contest its verdict once, from the verdict page: say what the judge missed or misread in the debate (new arguments and new sources don’t count, since the other side can’t answer them). The judge looks at the debate again and either keeps the verdict or changes it, and says why. Both of you see the appeal and the answer, and a result you share shows the verdict as it stands. In a rated debate, if the judge changes who argued better, or how clearly the evidence settles the claim, the debate is rated again and both ratings change with it.
- A check or a removal. If a claim or a post was blocked or removed by mistake, tell us on the feedback page or at support@arguers.com. A person looks at it and answers if you leave an email address.
Contesting doesn’t affect your right to go to court.
Reporting illegal content
To report something on Arguers that you believe is illegal, use the report form or write to contact@arguers.com, with:
- the link to where it is;
- why you believe it’s illegal;
- your name and email address (not needed if it concerns the sexual abuse of children);
- a statement that you believe your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm that we’ve received it, decide promptly, and tell you what we did.
What you write
What you write stays yours. You let us store it, show it to the people it’s meant for (your opponent, and anyone with the link to a result that everyone in the debate chose to share), and send it to the AI services that run Arguers, only to run Arguers. Only post what you have the right to post. Debates are kept so the people in them can come back to them; the privacy page says for how long, and how to delete them.
Guests, accounts and age
You can debate as a guest, or sign in with Google or Discord. You must be at least 14 years old to create an account, or older if the law where you live requires it, and 18 or older, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission, to subscribe to Pro. Keep your sign-in safe: what is done with it counts as done by you. Rated debates are for accounts, and a rating measures only who argued better, as the AI judge sees it: it’s a game, not a judgment of you.
We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example by fraud, by paying with someone else’s card or by abusing other people; we tell you why unless the law forbids it, and you can ask us to look again. A complaint, a refund request made in good faith or a withdrawal is never a reason to close an account. If we end Pro, or close an account, for any other reason, we refund the unused share of the month you paid for.
Pro
Pro is an optional monthly subscription that analyses how you debate, and keeps Arguers free for everyone. It costs 6 US dollars a month, or 6 euros a month in Europe: the Pro page and Stripe’s checkout show which applies to you. The price is final; no VAT or other tax is added. You need an account to subscribe, and Stripe handles the payment.
What it gives, as the Pro page describes it when you subscribe: a coach’s review of each debate you finish while you have Pro, and of your latest finished debate when you subscribe; your skills and your rating over time, on the stats page; a summary of your progress by email each month; and a Pro mark beside your name. What Pro has written for you stays yours to read after it ends.
It never helps you win. Pro doesn’t change the judge, a verdict, a rating, the bots or how often you can play, and everything needed to play stays free.
Renewal and cancelling. Pro renews automatically each month, on the day you subscribed, until you cancel. Cancel at any time with Cancel at renewal on the Pro page; there is no fee. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro stays until the end of the month you’ve paid for. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days, and Pro ends if it doesn’t go through. If you delete your account, Pro ends at once and the month in progress isn’t refunded: if you are within 14 days of a payment, withdraw first (below).
The United Kingdom. Pro isn’t sold to people who live in the United Kingdom or the Isle of Man, or who pay with a card issued there: UK law requires a seller established outside the UK to register for UK VAT from its first sale to a UK consumer, and we aren’t registered. Payments from there are refused at checkout. Everything else on Arguers works as usual.
Refunds
If something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us within 48 hours and we refund it in full. We would rather fix a bad experience than argue about it. This comes on top of your legal rights; it doesn’t replace them or shorten the time you have to use them.
Withdrawing within 14 days of a payment is covered in the next section. Otherwise a month of Pro already in progress isn’t refunded: cancelling ends the renewals after it. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before disputing it with your bank: we can almost always sort it out faster, and in your favour.
Right of withdrawal
You may withdraw from a payment for Pro within 14 days of it, without giving a reason; for consumers in the European Union and the EEA this is a right the law gives. At checkout you ask us to start Pro immediately. If you then withdraw, we refund that payment in full, and Pro ends.
To withdraw, use Withdraw from contract on the Pro page, which is linked at the foot of every page, or send a clear statement to support@arguers.com, for example: “I withdraw from my Arguers Pro purchase of [date]. Account email: [email]. Name: [name].” Your withdrawal counts from when you send it. We confirm by email that we received it, and refund within 14 days to the original payment method, without deducting any fee. Withdrawing also ends the renewals.
After each payment we email you a confirmation with these terms attached; a copy of each is also under Purchases on the Pro page.
No guarantees
Playing on Arguers is free, and Pro is the paid part. We work to keep both running and fair, but they can have mistakes and interruptions, and we may change, pause or end any free part of Arguers. If Pro doesn’t work as described, tell us: the law gives you a guarantee that a paid digital service is as described, and we will put it right or refund you. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses that come from using Arguers or from relying on what the AI says. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer, or our liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and if a change matters for you, the site says so before it applies. We change them only for a good reason, such as a change in the law or in what the site does or costs.
We give at least 30 days’ notice of a change to Pro or to its price that affects you. If you don’t accept it, cancel before it applies, and we refund the unused share of the month you’ve paid for. A change never applies to a payment already made.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you live in the European Union, you also keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law, and you can take a dispute to the courts where you live.

Informazioni essenziali (in italiano)
Il servizio Arguers è fornito da MABARIS di M.A.B., impresa individuale, P.IVA IT04083540791, REA CZ-233871, con sede in Via Rucci 2, 88044 Marcellinara (CZ). Contatti: contact@arguers.com e support@arguers.com, telefono +39 331 280 4782.
